Supported inputs and outputs
Paste a link to a Reddit post containing video — either a v.redd.it link or a standard reddit.com/r/SUBREDDIT/comments/... post URL. Silent clips that Reddit hosts as video work the same way. Most of today's "GIF" posts are a .gif image file instead, which this page doesn't download. Both the new-Reddit and old.reddit.com URL formats work the same way, since they point at the same underlying post.

How NoBsDL reads a Reddit video

Reddit limits
Free downloads: MP4 up to 1080p and 500MB, MP3 up to 100MB. Supporter access raises both to 2GB. The merged MP4 is kept on NoBsDL's server only until it is deleted automatically, normally within about an hour.
NoBsDL checks the size before the download when Reddit reports it, and stops a download that grows past the limit instead of handing you a cut-off file.

Why is there no audio in my downloaded Reddit video?
Reddit's own hosting (v.redd.it) often stores video and audio as two separate files. NoBsDL joins them when both exist; if the post has no audio track, the download has no sound either.
Does this work for GIFs?
Only when Reddit hosts the GIF as a video clip. Most GIF posts today are a .gif image file, which this page does not download; the free NoBsDL Reddit userscript saves the original .gif from the post.
Does this work for a post that links to an outside video?
Only if the linked page is itself a video NoBsDL can process. Paste that page's own link; a Reddit post linking to an article or image has nothing to extract.
Does this work with old.reddit.com links?
Yes. old.reddit.com and the standard reddit.com address point at the same post and are handled the same way.
Can I download a Reddit gallery post?
Not through this page, which is built for single-video posts. The free NoBsDL Reddit userscript adds a Save gallery button on Reddit itself and saves every image of the post as one ZIP.
Why does a short redd.it link fail when the full link works?
NoBsDL's backup route reads the post's embed page, and that needs the full reddit.com/r/.../comments/... link. Paste the full link from Reddit's Share menu.
