Supported inputs and outputs
Paste a link to a Reddit post containing video — either Reddit-hosted (v.redd.it links, or a standard reddit.com/r/SUBREDDIT/comments/... post URL) or a "GIF" post, which is almost always silent MP4 under the hood. Both the new-Reddit and old.reddit.com URL formats work the same way, since they point at the same underlying post.
Video output
MP4, with separately-hosted video and audio streams merged automatically when Reddit stores them that way.
Audio output
MP3 at 128, 256, or 320 kbps where an audio track exists; muted GIF-style posts have nothing to extract.
Why the audio is a separate merge step
Reddit's own video hosting (v.redd.it) commonly stores a post's video and its audio as two separate files (a DASH video stream and a separate audio stream), rather than one combined file — the same general pattern YouTube uses for high resolutions. When both exist, NoBsDL downloads and merges them into one MP4 automatically. When a post genuinely has no audio track — many "GIF"-style silent clips — there's nothing to merge, and that's expected rather than a fault in processing.
How it works
- Copy the post link from Reddit's Share option.
- Paste it above and select Extract Formats.
- Choose MP4 or an MP3 bitrate, if audio is available.
- The file downloads directly to your device.
What this page can't do
- Posts in private or quarantined subreddits that require login.
- Posts linking to an external article, image gallery, or non-video page — including Reddit's own multi-image "gallery" posts, which have no single video to extract.
- Deleted or removed posts, or posts from a subreddit or account that's since been banned.
- A crosspost's original source if that source post has itself been deleted, even if the crosspost is still visible.
Troubleshooting
Downloaded video has no sound
Some Reddit "GIF" posts and older video posts genuinely have no audio track — this isn't a processing error.
"Could not read this link"
Confirm the subreddit is public and the post loads without a login prompt in a private browser window.
The link is a gallery, not a single video
Reddit gallery posts hold multiple images (occasionally mixed with a video). This page is built for single-video posts, not multi-item galleries.
Privacy & temporary files
No account is required and downloaded media is not retained after processing — files are automatically deleted from our servers within about an hour of processing, though some delivery paths extend this slightly to keep a download link valid. See the Privacy Policy.
