What we collect

To look up a link and deliver your file, NoBsDL processes the link you submit and the resulting media temporarily. We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site and its tools are used (see "Analytics" below). We do not collect your email address for a normal, free download. See "Logging" below for the short-lived diagnostic record NoBsDL keeps about lookups and downloads.

Analytics

NoBsDL uses Google Analytics (GA4) for basic site and product measurement. It loads automatically on NoBsDL's public pages and records page views plus product events such as a link lookup starting, succeeding or failing, a download starting, and clicks on Supporter or payment options. Google Analytics may set its own cookies and receives standard technical information from your browser, as described in Google's own documentation.

We deliberately limit what is sent: page addresses are reported without their query string, so a media link you submit (for example in a ?url= parameter) is not sent to Google Analytics, and event data is restricted to coarse values such as platform, output format, quality bucket, page type and result. Submitted media URLs, media titles, Supporter keys, email addresses and error details are not included in analytics events.

Email and Supporter access

Your email address is only stored as plain text if you explicitly opt in to marketing or product updates — that opt-in field is the only place it's kept that way. Any access token or activation key used for paid Supporter access is stored only as a one-way hash, never in plain text.

Supporter passes are paid through Stripe Checkout, on Stripe's own page: NoBsDL never sees your card or other payment details. From Stripe, NoBsDL keeps a record of the payment (Stripe's checkout reference, amount, currency, pass length, date, and the NoBsDL page you came from) and a keyed one-way hash of the email you paid with, so you can get your key with that email if you close the page before it is shown. The email itself is not stored, and NoBsDL does not send you any email. Stripe processes your payment under its own privacy policy.

How long files are kept

Processed files are automatically deleted from our servers after a short retention window — typically within about an hour of processing, though some delivery paths extend this slightly to keep a download link valid. We don't promise an exact, guaranteed deletion time down to the minute.

Logging

NoBsDL's own application keeps a short-lived operational diagnostic record so we can find out why a lookup, download or delivery failed. Each record can contain the public media URL you submitted (with tracking parameters and query parameters whose names look like secrets, such as token, key or signature, removed before it is saved), the platform, the media title the source reported, the output type and quality requested, the outcome, timings, and a classified error message.

This diagnostic record does not store your IP address, cookie contents, Supporter keys, admin or session secrets, or authentication tokens. It is normally kept for up to 30 days.

Separately, the hosting and content-delivery infrastructure we run on keeps its own standard technical access logs (like IP addresses and timestamps), as is normal for any web service — this is an infrastructure-level layer, distinct from the diagnostic record described above.

Cookies and sessions

NoBsDL uses its own cookies or session identifiers where needed to support Supporter access and basic site functionality, and does not use them to build an advertising profile of you. Google Analytics sets its own cookies, as described under "Analytics" above.

If you opted into marketing communications and want to withdraw that consent, or have another question about your data, contact us and we'll act on it.

Browser extension

The NoBsDL browser extension (a side panel for Chrome-based browsers and Firefox) sends its requests only to nobsdl.com, and the files you download come from nobsdl.com; preview images are the one exception (see "Thumbnails"). It uses the same lookup and download service as the website, so "What we collect", "How long files are kept" and "Logging" above apply to it too.

• What it reads: the address and title of the tab the panel belongs to. On supported video sites it can do this only after you allow "Auto-detect on video sites" (or for the tab where you clicked the NoBsDL button). It does not read page content, your cookies or your browsing history.
• What it sends to nobsdl.com: the address of the video you open (automatically, if "Load formats automatically" is on) or the link you paste. If you activate a Supporter key, the key is sent once and exchanged for a Supporter session; that session is then sent with your requests so nobsdl.com can apply your access. Our server stores the key and the session only as one-way hashes. In Firefox this is only done with your separate consent, and withdrawing it removes the session from the extension.
• What is kept in your browser: your settings, the Supporter session, the downloads in progress, a list of your recent finished downloads (title, file name) and the last format you picked per site. "Sign out" deletes the session here and asks our server to end it, "Clear" empties the download list, and removing the extension deletes all of it.
• Thumbnails: the video's preview image is loaded directly from the video site's image server, which sees a normal image request from your browser.
• The extension contains no Google Analytics or other trackers.
